Shane Cartmill, spokesman for the State Fire Marshal's Office, said the Wednesday morning fires have both been ruled arson and are being treated as separate incidents.

The blaze was discovered shortly after midnight in the 1400 block of West State Street and took firefighters about 20 minutes to extinguish the flames. 


An estimated $90,000 in damages was caused to the white 1996 moving van and a large number of hiking and bicycling shoes that were stored inside, officials said.

Ebner, 49, sustained serious injuries in the fire Monday at 308 S. 20th St. 

Jessica Lown, a spokeswoman for the Iowa Department of Public Safety, confirmed that the person involved in Monday's fire had died. 


However, the Department of Public Safety is not releasing the name, pending notification of the family.
