Sullivan firemen was called to 57 Modern St. with the report of visible flames in the upper level of the residence.
When firefighters arrived, heavy smoke was coming out of the windows on the second floor.
Flesher said the property is a house that had been converted into three apartments.

An apparent abandoned single story structure was destroyed by fire this morning, Friday, November 20.
The fire, located at 6840 Cary Hamilton Road, was called in by a neighbor at approximately 10:34 a.m. who reported smoke and flames visible.
Firefighters arrived at approximately 10:42 a.m. reporting the house fully involved with fire.

State police charged a local man Friday with arson in connection with the latest of what authorties describe as four intention-ally set fires in town.
The man is the latest of seven arson suspects charged by state police and the State Fire Marshal's Office this week.
Douglas J. Deloge, 39, of Medway was arrested Friday afternoon at the East Millinocket Public Safety Building, where had been questioned about a fire that destroyed a vacant house at 157 Pattagumpus Road early Thursday, on Deloge's birthday

RANGERS regarded as the "SAS of bushfire fighting" are among more than 200 parks and wildlife staff facing the axe under savage cutbacks ordered by the NSW Government.

A two-alarm fire that ripped through a Beaverton apartment complex early this morning has left eight residents looking for a new place to stay.
Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue responded to the building, located at 4804 S.E. Oleson Road, when several residents called 911 around 4 a.m. and reported seeing large flames coming from the balcony of the complex's third floor.
No residents or firefighters were injured.

More than 1,000 firefighters are expected to be on the job again today as parts of New South Wales face another day of catastrophic fire danger.
It is the second time in as many days the warning has been used since a new national alert system was introduced in the wake of Victoria's Black Saturday fires.
A total fire ban is in place for many parts of the state with high temperatures expected again today.

A LARGE house fire in West Drayton took firefighters nearly three hours to bring under control this morning.
Firefighters were called at 4.47am to 460 Bath Road, in Longford, with police also attending to seal off the busy road.
In total 20 firefighters and four crews attended, and the tudor-style house suffered severe structural damage.

Australian firefighters battled dozens of bush blazes yesterday as record-breaking hot weather sparked "catastrophic" warnings in two states, just months after the country's worst ever wildfire disaster.
Major lightning storms set off about 100 blazes in South Australia alone, most of which had since burned out, according to the state's Country Fire Service.
Emergency crews also battled scores of fires in the most populous state of New South Wales, some on the outskirts of Sydney, the Rural Fire Servi
